CARTHAGE OFFICE UPDATE

The Carthage Courthouse office of the Jasper County Collector of Revenue is open! The office has literally been rebuilt after the sprinkler pipe burst in January created the "flood of 2024". The Carthage office is fully staffed and performing all of the Collector office functions as it did previously. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am till 4:30 pm, at both the Carthage office and Joplin office.

The Jasper County Courts Building office of the Jasper County Collector of Revenue is located at 633 S. Pearl, Joplin.
There are several convenient ways to pay your Real Estate and/or Personal Property Taxes:
The Jasper County Collector is responsible for the collection of current and delinquent property taxes for the various political subdivisions and taxing entities of the county. The collector also collects merchant license fees, and railroad and utility taxes. The collector is charged with the duties of collecting the taxes due, as shown on the Assessor's records, and then distributes the funds monthly to the various taxing entities.

Property tax statements are mailed during the first week of November each year. Please inspect your statements and verify that all information is correct. To change an address, contact the County Assessor. All tax statements are due upon receipt and become delinquent after December 31st. Payments can be made in person at the courthouse in Carthage, or the Jasper County Courts Building in Joplin. Online payments are also being accepted at this website. Mailed tax payments MUST have an official US Post Office postmark on or before December 31st, to avoid additional penalties and interest. Payments postmarked after December 31st will be returned unprocessed unless late fees are included.
