NOTICE OF TAX CERTIFICATE SALE

I, Steven E. McIntosh, Collector of Revenue within and for the County of Jasper, State of Missouri, hereby give notice as provided in Chapter 493 and 140, of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, that I shall offer for sale according to the provisions of the aforesaid laws, the hereinafter described lots and lands, or so much thereof as may be necessary to discharge the taxes, interest and charges which may be due thereof at the County of Jasper, in the State of Missouri, for delinquent taxes on real estate, at the Jasper County Courthouse, Jasper County, Missouri on the 28th day of August, 2023, the same being the fourth Monday in August, commencing at 10:00 a.m. on said day and continuing thereafter until all are offered.

Buyer must be present to bid. You must register and sign an affidavit before the day of the sale stating that you own no delinquent taxes in the State of Missouri. You must be a resident of the State of Missouri or be a registered agent for a Missouri resident(non-residents must contact the Collector of Revenue office for additional steps which need to be met before sale). All bidders must register, in person, in the Collector of Revenue office in Carthage, Missouri. The bidder registration opens at 8:30a.m., August 21, 2023, and will close at 4:30p.m. August 25, 2023.

Said lots and lands are situated in the County of Jasper, Missouri, and are described in forty-acre tracts or other legal subdivisions and the lots are described by number, block, addition, etc., together with the names of all owners as the appear in the land tax book as described on the Assessor’s Tax Rolls for the 2022 tax year, or as updated in the 2022 year. The aggregate amount of taxes, penalties, interest and cost due thereon on each year are separately stated.

The land and lots are to be sold under the description as listed and the amount as shown due for each represents the total amount of taxes, interest and costs, including the cost of this sale and tax certificate or certificates.

Bidders should know they are not purchasing the Real Estate, rather you are purchasing a delinquent tax sale certificate. You do not gain immediate possession of the property. A Collector’s Deed can be acquired 1 year from the date of sale after the purchaser performs the steps required by the State of Missouri. It is the buyer’s responsibility to meet the requirements to obtain a Collector’s Deed. It may benefit you to consult an attorney.
